Gdynia Aquarium is part of the National Marine Fisheries Research Institute. Our mission is to showcase aquatic animal species from around the world and to share knowledge about aquatic environments.
Gdynia Aquarium is a rather unusual zoological garden. All of its animals are associated with aquatic environments, and the entire exhibition is housed within a single building. Despite these distinctive features, the Aquarium fulfils all the functions of a modern zoo: it contributes to animal conservation, promotes nature conservation, provides a broad range of environmental education activities, and conducts scientific research.
